It’s nice to meet you!

I’m Alexandra (she/her) and I wear many hats: entrepreneur, fashion designer, pattern cutter, consultant, teller of bad jokes and your new creative cheerleader.

I am the proud owner of a 45° curve in my spine and so, as someone with scoliosis, you can rest assured I understand the importance clothes can have on our confidence.

When I’m not educating the masses here at DPL, you’ll find me launching fashion brands for my clients over at Xandra Jane Design. I graduated with a BA (Hons) in fashion before being plunged into the dark depths of the industry where I saw and experienced things I. Did. Not. Like.

It was hard, emotionally draining and really had me questioning if I was doing the right thing with my life.

So I left.

Since doing so, I’ve carved my own path into the fashion industry with morals, ethics and sustainability at the forefront of my endeavours.
Let me tell you, it’s been a crazy journey…

I’ve launched my own sustainable streetwear brand.
I’ve won Fashion Designer of the Year in the Wales Prestige Awards 2021/2022
I’ve been a finalist for various awards including Sustainability Champion and Female Business Leader.
I’ve been featured in national press including Psychologies Magazine and The Telegraph.
I’ve also been invited to speak at the UK’s largest fashion and textiles trade show about How to Fast Track Your Fashion Brand with Sustainable Credentials.

In 2016 I moved back home to Wales and fell in love with a rather lovely farmer, (don’t tell him I said that), who I now live with on his Welsh hillside farm. We built a fashion studio adjacent to a cow shed - glamorous - and the rest, as they say - is history.

It was some time into my streetwear brand that in an effort to reconnect my customer to their clothing, I decided to flip my luxury business model on its head and started charging fast-fashion prices for the same high-end designs, but there was one catch… my customer had to make it themselves.

This is how Digital Pattern Library was born.

I invite you to become the designer through choosing your own fabrics and colours, and interpret my designs with your personality sewn into the seams. Since making the sustainable decision to go completely digital with PDF patterns, I haven’t looked back once.

In fact it didn’t stop there.

Once I realised the power unleashing your inner fashion designer had, I pushed beyond sewing patterns and invited you to design and draft your very own ideas.

To feel great in the clothes you create by developing a wardrobe full of clothes you LOVE.

Not only do we reduce our carbon footprint through an entirely digital business, we pledge free scrap buster patterns in the fight against textile waste and celebrate innovative design with upcycled concepts.
